In order to access the Middle Earth BBS, you should use the Settings file that is enclosed. If you take a look at the number dialed, you'll notice that there is a bunch of commas and a bunch of "22's". This is because I am using a router to go from my fax and the BBS. Yes, I am psychotic, but hey, so far it seems to work okay.
Anyway, here's the trip. When you dial in, the router picks up the call. You then have THREE RINGS to dial the code to send it to the modem. This code is 22. Apparently, it doesn't always recognize the code. That's why you have to enter a bunch of 22's! The commas allow pauses so that the 22 isn't sent until after the first ring. If you get to the fourth ring, then you will automatically get sent to the fax.
This will change as the BBS gets more usage, and I will dedicate the line solely for access. In fact, I'll even add more lines. However, I've already got 4 lines running in my house, so I'll have to save up a bunch of cash!
Currently, the BBS will operate 24 hours/day, and at 14.4.
